The 87th edition of Tour de Suisse will set off from Vaduz, Liechstenstein, on Sunday 9 June and finish a week, 950 kilometers and 19’000 meters of elevation later in Villars. Tudor Pro Cycling is delighted to be at the start of the biggest race in Switzerland and will be competing with high ambitions.
Seven riders have been selected to take part in one of the Team’s home races. Yannis Voisard will be racing with the General Classification in mind. The Swiss rider, at ease as soon as the roads go up, is looking forward to the numerous mountain stages and with the final TT (15,7km with 865m of elevation) between the World Cycling Center in Aigle and Villars. A strong team was built around him with Marco Brenner who will support Yannis in the mountain stages, and also get a chance to do well in the GC.
Marius Mayrhofer, who had to abandon the Giro d’Italia last month due to illness, is returning to racing and is very motivated to do well, especially in the first two stages where a smaller group of riders are expected to sprint for the win.
Yannis and Marco will be supported by strong teammates: Swiss riders Roland Thalmann and Sebastien Reichenbach, Hannes Wilksch from Germany and Luc Wirtgen from Luxemburg.
Sports Director Bart Leysen is aware that eyes will be on the team next week but is confident that Tudor Pro Cycling has everything it takes to race at the front and make the Swiss fans proud.
